My favorite autumn tradition is the raking of the leaves. We have huge trees in and around our yard and once the leaves start falling they can be pretty intense. It's fun though, for hubby and I to go out and rake them up!

Thanks.

Hi Deb! Wow this card just jumped off my reader at me! I am such a quilt lover anyway and these wonderful colors are perfect! Love your square card! Our favorite fall activity is to take a trip to the mountains and drive along the mountain roads viewing all the fall leaves, stopping for apples and pumpkins, having some hot cider along the way... it's something I look forward to every year! I live in a small town and I love to drive down main street with the older mansion type homes. Very old Maple trees line the street and when the sun is shining (not today!) it just glows with the orange and yellow leaves! Gives me a happy feeling! TFS sharing candy!

My favorite fall tradition is picking apples and then spending days making applesauce, pies and cobblers for the rest of the year. Well, in the midst of the work I don't always love it, but when I pull out that fresh apple taste in the treats prepared, all the warm feelings of fall return.

My favorite autumn tradition is to look for beautiful autumn leaves for the table decorations with my granddaughter. Sam is now 15 and we still do it. Sammi and I have been doing this every year since she was a toddler. Grandpa and Sam rake the leaves into piles then bury each other! Thank you, thank you, thank you for the wonderful memories!

My favorite autumn tradition is carving pumpkins. We started when my boys were 3 and 6, inviting our new neighbors over to share dinner and join in the fun. Even when the boys got to those "teenage" years, they made sure we were still getting together with the same friends for dinner and carving. Now the boys are 21 and 24 and I think this will be the first time we will not be together to carve.

I love everything about autumn. The colors of the leaves changing,
hot cider on a cold night, that first fire in the fireplace, going to the pumpkin patch, baking apple breads and pies from all the apple trees, seeing the little "trick or treaters," football games, and on and on (but I'll stop here.) :)

Thanks for the chance to win the awesome blog candy too. :)

Your fall themed quilted card is so bright and cheerful and cozy just like a quilt!!
My favorite fall tradition is driving through the mountains and side roads to view the changing aspens in Colorado Rocky Mountains, sometimes saving a couple of the leaves to do something special with later!

I love the colors in your card because that is my favorite thing about fall is the colors. When I was a child my Mother would always tell us about the changing colors in the leaves and how God created all this beauty. I'm making a long story short. But now that I'm grown and a Children's Church Dir. for several years at the same church in a small southern town, every year I take the children on a nature hike and we collect all kinds of pretty leaves, pincones, sticks and even a few rocks. It will amaze you what those children come back with sometimes. Then we all gather around a table and I tell a story about the greatness and beauty of God and his creations. Then we all make animals and all kind of things by putting things together we found in a nature hike. You would be surprised how a child can pich up a leave and a pinecone and make the things they do. They really look good. The children look forward to this every year. I have a few kids that have out grown the children church age and they still go on the nature hikes with me. This has become a tradition now for about 8 years.

I love to find new crafts to use
with the leaves as they change
color and fall. I press them,
and stamp fabric or paper with
them, and decorate with them.
I hate to see them disappear!
Thanks! Diane H.

I love pumpkins. My husband and I have been growing them for a couple of years now. I love going through all the ones we have and deciding where to put them - on the deck, on the porch, by the steps. I also take some to work for my friends.

My favorite holiday tradition is what my DH calls the "Pulling of the Woolies". MOre simply it is the pulling out of all our sweaters and winter wear! Here at the beach it's not a big deal since I don't even own a coat. Our lows are probably in mid 30s at best. But since we both love sweaters, we make a big deal and pull out the wine and have a good time going through our Woolies!
