I used the beautiful 1.25" wide May Art's white Crochet Lace, available from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.
I started with 12" of crochet lace...you can experiment here...a longer length with make a fuller flower. I threaded a narrow satin ribbon onto a needle, then stitched it through the edge of the lace, through every other hole. I've also used May Art's Ivory and Natural twine for this step as well.
After running the narrow ribbon or twine through the entire border, begin to gather the lace tighter together. It will naturally form a circular shape.
You can now top the center with a button, brad, silk flower, or bow.
The rest of my design was created with Crafty Secret's #11 "Flowers" for my image, Graphic 45's pinstriped "A Proper Gentleman" and pale yellow KaiserCraft "Devonshire Collection" designer papers (All from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store).
Kaiser self adhesive "Snow" Pearls (Stamp Simply Ribbon Store) decorate the corners of my "askew" design.

Even out the lace around the blossom, tucking the crochet lace ends into the folds. Tie and knot the two ends, gathering the lace tightly, with a small center hole. Trim the excess ribbon, or use it in your design.
You can now top the center with a button, brad, silk flower, or bow.
I decided to top by white lace blossom with a pretty May Art's Buttery Gold wide Silk Ribbon bow, created with a Bow Easy ( both Stamp Simply Ribbon Store).

Thank you for taking the time to show us how to make these great flowers! They are beautiful as is your very wonderful "askew" card.
I love the swiss dots on the yellow paper, and the main focal point--the printed papers. I am guessing they are printed. The card looks beautiful!
