Two for You! & Yummy Blog Candy Too!

I have two very different designs for you today!

First off, let me show you my example of "Simply Shabby." Today is the May Stamp Simply Ribbon Store Design Team Blog Hop, and I'm so glad that you've found your way here!

Our challenge today at the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store DT is "Simply Shabby (Shabby Chic)!" I do love this look--I think vintage and shabby are a tie for favorite first place design style for me!

I began my shabby look with beautiful Pink Paislee "365 Degree" decorator paper, available at the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. My color choice comes directly from the Crafty Secret's #11 "Flowers" Cotton Scraps (Stamp Simply Ribbon Store) image panel. Crafty Secret Cotton Scraps are perfect for creating shabby designs...you can cut, glue, sew, and texture them easily for distressed appeal!

Another "shabby" touch...a flower made from May Art's wide Ivory Crochet Lace...so very easy to create! I took some May Art's Ivory narrow silk ribbon, threaded through a wide eyed needle, and proceed to gather the lace to create the blossom. I then tied the ribbon off into a small bow, and added two layered vintage buttons threaded together with May Art's Ivory twine. Both buttons are made of of natural material, mother of pearl and shell. I flipped the top button over to show the orange-ish shell back to match my design.

A border of May Art's narrow ivory lace, also threaded with May Art's narrow Ivory silk, adds a pretty touch! ALL May Art's ribbon is from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store...simply the BEST one-stop place to purchase quality, gorgeous ribbon!

Make certain that you check out the rest of the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store DT's definition of "Shabby Chic!"
