My One Layer "Wonder"

This week's Stamp Simply Challenge (ssnotime151)is brought to us by Barbara Anders: Make a ONE layer card! Me oh my...I'm in trouble! I typically do not use a LOT of layers, but always SOME!

This design also fits Splitcoaststampers "Free for All" challenge: to take inspiration from our gardens, floral or vegetable!

Well, I made my project, then reread the challenge to blog it, and of course, found a mistake on my part...this isn't exactly a card!!! It's meant to be a gift tag! Sorry, Barb! It is one layer only though!

I wanted to use this pretty brand new May Art's Pink Striped Twill from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store...so pretty in pink, and all sorts of other colors as well!

And, ahem...you may have noticed that lovely bow at the top? Well, bow tying is another challenge for me--my daughter in law, Jennifer, is an expert at bows--but let's just say that I totally depend on my "Bow Easy" to help me out when Jennifer isn't around!

This image is from one of Stampin' Up's Level One Hostess stamp sets: "Because I Care." I stamped the hydrangea with Memento Tuxedo Ink, then colored it with numerous Copic Sketch Markers.

A Spellbinder Petite Oval die was used to die cut the image, and a Krylon 18kt. Gold Leafing Pen (both from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store) was used to rim the edge. Stampin' Up's Itty Bitty Background was also used with Creamy Caramel ink.

A brad from Michaels finishes this gift tag.
