Merry Christmas! and a Shabby Tea Room Challenge Design

Merry Christmas!!!

I hope that your Christmas Day has been a blessing thus far--filled with family, love, and the blessed promise and Gift that we celebrate the day for!

I'm sorry that I've been out of the loop for a bit...we've been experiencing the stomach flu in our home, but hopefully all over for now!

The pics that I'm showing you today are ornament gifts that I made for my friends at the school that I work at...unfortunately I was unable to deliver them the last couple of days of school; so here they still sit. My plan was to include AppleBee gift cards, which I did already send along.

The design of these ornaments are also for the Shabby Tea Room's Scandinavian Challenge for this week...#41 Scandinavian Christmas! Since I am of Finnish descent, I consider these somewhat Scandinavian!!!

I made ten ornaments in all...here's just a sampling of the designs.  I used the remainder of two kits that I have from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store: the Stamp Simply Glad Tidings Kit, and the Stamp Simply KaiserCraft Ornament Kit. Both of these kits feature a 12" square of K and Company's Glad Tidings Design Paper.

These are similar to some of the ornaments that I have made this past month...I wanted something fairly quick and easy, yet very dimensional and layered.

You can see the elements here in this closeup...K and Co.'s sticker that comes as part of the Stamp Simply Glad Tidings Kit...

layered over my own cinnamon stick and preserved cedar greens; accordian medallion made from the paper in the kit; along with May Art's Silk Ribbon (also all available in the kit).

ETA: Here's a great tutorial by Kelly Lunceford--Flutter by Atomicbutterfly-- to create the accordian medallion yourself!

Most of the edges were drizzled with gold Stickles to match the gold cord that accents and acts as the ornament's hanger.

Fun, quick, and easy!

The Stamp Simply Glad Tidings Kit is still available from Sharon at the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store...

it's a great time to get ahead on gifts for next year--a hint that I must take myself--so that the last minute gift finishing is done BEFORE you have a chance to get sick and not make it for the actual day!!!

I also wanted to let you know that I will be the Shabby Tea Room Guest Designer for January 17th! I invite you to join us then!

Have a wonderful week with your loved ones! Take Care!

The ornaments are beautiful Deb! I'm so sorry that you all have been suffering from the stomach flu! My youngest got a touch of it and was ill for three days. Thank goodness the rest of us didn't get it! Wishing you a Merry Christmas! Hugs, Jerri

Hi Deb~

I do pray that you are all feeling well now. I have been ill for a couple of weeks. Right at Christmas time!

These ornaments are so beautiful. I love that style of folding...and the colors are beautiful.

I hope you were able to enjoy the beauty that I am sure surrounds your home at this very special time of year...the tree, the banner(?), and all of that love!

p.s. One of your donated wonderful cards is the "Card of the Week" at the He IS Able blog! I thank you so much for sharing it with us! It is beautiful...

I love your art. No matter what style it is. It is always creative and polished.

For this reason, I believe you deserve an award. Please stop by Monday's post on the He IS Able blog to see what is going on.

Congratulations!
