Handmade Flowers and Stamp Simply Birthday Blessings

Hello! I enjoyed making up a birthday card using The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store's clear stamp set

Love this set...it stamps up so crisp and pretty! I used Versafine Onyx Black ink...my favorite for sentiment stamping.

Here's the inside sentiment:

I also had a blast making the flowers on the card front using Spellbinder's "Cinch and Go Flower" dies!  (designed by the talented Becca Feeken!) So fun, with pretty results! Let me tell you about it...

I began by die cutting a bunch of the blossom layers using regular white coffee filters. I wanted to create a tissue type petal and what could be easier than what almost all have in their kitchen cupboards!  I then watercolored the layers using my watercolor crayons, brush and water. I was not particular in painting as I wanted to achieve a distressed look.

After allowing the petals to dry, I began with flower production. I used Pearl Stamens by Marion Smith Designs.  You can also get glittery and colorful stamens...see all HERE. I used a bit of Tombow Multi Mono Glue in making the blossoms. After they were complete, I used a Copic Sketch marker to add an additional color detail to the edges of some of the petals.

My shabby bow is made with an Original Bow Easy and seam binding ribbon. The colors used are: Melon, Tangerine, Cameo Beige, Baby Pink, and Rose Petal. You can see a tutorial to make this bow HERE.  There is also a border of Venise Lucia Lace peeking out from behind the flowery accent.

All is layered upon a background of Kaisercraft's "Ma Cherie." Love this paper pad...simply gorgeous. My photos here do not do it justice...the butterflies are covered in a clear sheen and my bow and flowers match much better "in real life!"

I had fun making this one. I'm looking forward to making more flowers--using the Cinch and Go die set makes it VERY easy!

All linked supplies are from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Thanks for stopping by today!
