This month's Dirty Dozen Alumni/Dirty Girl Challenge is "Playing Favorites!" We were to make a Mother's or Father's Day card using our current favorite stamp set, technique, or colors. My current favorites are: butterfly stamps, Spellbinders Nestabilities, and Copic marker coloring!
We were also to use a stand-by, go-to set that we depend on-- mine is PaperTrey Ink's Mixed Messages-- these tiny sentiments work for sooo many occasions!
To begin: I created a card base with Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip, measuring 4.5" X 9." I created layers with MME Bohemia Backyard "My Journey" Brocade/Brown decorator paper, ticket corner punching the top dp layer.
I used Stampendous Butterflies Perfectly Clear Stamps for all three images. I colored the butterflies with numerous Copic markers, then die cut them out with Spellbinder Nestabilities Small Deckled Rectangles. After I die cut the image panels, I sponged them with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink, as well as the other layers of dp.
I finished off my design with Chatterbox's Easy Brad Maker kit, fitted with a "Mother" sentiment from PaperTrey Ink. I added a bit of satin ribbon, as well as a piece of SU's narrow brown retired stitched ribbon.
