Thankful for You!

Hello! I've just finished putting some finishing touches on a challenge card from my monthly stamping group. We were given this sketch (though I flipped it...) and papers (Stampin' Up retired and Basic Black cardstocks) and asked to bring back something fun!

I added a sentiment from Our Daily Bread designs "God Loves You" stamped directly onto the designer paper with Versafine Black Onyx ink.

Next addition: Martha Stewart punched Monarch Butterflies, layered over more of the designer paper for a flash of extra color.

I hope that you like this card enhanced with black touches! I'm eager to see what the rest of my group has come up with!

Have a great finish to your week! Thanks for stopping by!

The Lord Bless You and Keep You!

This is one of the last cards that I will be making as an "official" Our Daily Bread design Team Member. I've thoroughly enjoyed
my time with ODBD, and will continue to support them!

Thanks to Kelley, Grace, and the entire team for
your kindness and care!

Now for my card: what a most perfect Bible verse for parting company--direct from our Lord's Word! This verse is part of ODBD's June release, "From Me to You."

I used decorator paper from Basic Grey's "Kioshi" pad, also available at Our Daily Bread designs. This floral print reminds me of Finnish Marimekko textiles--providing a fresh and modern feel.

Solid black accents, as well as a couple of American Craft Elements black brads, finish this quick and easy, yet very mailable, design.

Have a wonderful Lord's Day!

Stamp Simply Dressed in White Blog Hop

Hi there! Welcome to this Saturday's Stamp Simply Ribbon Store Design Team Mini Hop! This week, we're featuring designs in hues of white or ivory...and dressing them up with May Art ribbons, lace, and trim...all in shades of "light" as well!

Sharon has put together some gorgeous kits of white May Arts: "Everyday Whites" and "Fancy Whites." She also ribbons and trims in Ivory colors.  AND...there is a Stamp Simply Ribbon Store sale running now with 15% off of any white or ivory BY THE SPOOL!

Let me walk you through my very simple design! As you can see, I went with shades and tones of white and ivory.

I began with Basic Grey's Cappella designer paper (Stamp Simply Ribbon Store). I thought that the subtle tones would complement a pure white theme.  I decorated the Cappella base with strips of a solid color from the pad, then layered May Art White Wide Crocheted Lace (Stamp Simply Ribbon Store) over the strips. This really highlighted the white lace.

A blossom was created with Spellbinders Dahlia Nestabilities dies, also available from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. I wrinkled the layers of the flower, then added a crystal button and "leaves" of May Arts White Wrinkled 1/2" Ribbon.

A wash of a shimmer spray adds a touch of gleam.

Stamp Simply Color Challenge!

Welcome to this week's Stamp Simply Challenge (ssnotime145):
yes, a color challenge this week--use yellow and gray!

Oh oh, just a little bit of a "cheat" here...the only "gray" that I used was pewter hardware (retired Stampin' Up HodgePodge Hardware) and a bit of gray coloring...

I really love these sunny, cheerful prints from October Afternoon's "Ducks in a Row" and "Road Map" (both available at the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store) 8 X 8" designer pads. Besides delivering fabulous patterns, October Afternoon papers are 65 lb. cover-weight...very substantial and sturdy!

I stamped my JustRite "Breath of Spring" daffodil image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then colored it with numerous Copic Sketch Markers. Spellbinder Classic Oval dies were used to create the image panel and frame. All three items are from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Head on over and see the rest of the Stamp Simply Challenge Team's interpretation of yellow & gray!

New Stuff!

Take a look at some of my new "stuff"! I wanted to make up a quick card to send out--this is quick--just a matter of layers and trim!

This beautiful paper and trim is from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. The paper is Webster's Petite Pages "Lullaby Lane & Life's Portrait." The designer trim is Webster's Pages "Garden Gala, Seaside Retreat."

What a fab pack of trim--there is a mix of six different one yard length trims/ribbon per card--all gorgeous! They really can dress up a simple, quick card or project! There's another equally beautiful trim pack available at the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, also by Webster's Pages, called "Life's Lullaby."

I also used Our Daily Bread design's new June release, "Scripture Series 1," a set of favorite precious Bible verses chosen by customers!

The verse was stamped with Versafine Sepia Ink, then die cut with Spellbinder Classic Oval dies
(the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store).

Well, I hope that you've enjoyed seeing some of my new "stuff"! Have a great Wednesday!

Stamp Simply Saturday Fun Hop!

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store Design Team has a mini hop going on today! We're featuring the different JustRite products that are on sale in the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store!

I wanted to show you a hostess gift that I've created using JustRite's "Preserves Set" (Stamp Simply Ribbon Store). What a lovely selection of images and rim sentiments to compliment gifts from your garden or pantry. I choose two bottles of jelly (plum and apple/plum) that I had preserved last Autumn, to fill the gift box.

Let me tell you about the decorated box that houses the jelly jars. I took a piece of midweight cardboard and estimated the size that I would need to hold two jars of jelly.

After cutting, scoring and creating the box, I covered it with layers of designer papers from both October Afternoon's "Fly a Kite" and "the Thrift Shop" (both from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store). These two pads have similar colors and prints that make it totally great to mix and match!

A scalloped edge (Stampin Up Scallop punch) and Stamped Simply May Art's red striped ribbon and bow tie the box together for presentation.

I then took the jelly and jam image from JustRite's "Preserves," stamped it twice with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then colored it with numerous Copic Sketch markers. A bit of layering, thanks to Spellbinder Circles dies (Stamp Simply Ribbon Store) and dimensional tape, finish the tops of the jelly jars.

Take a look at what other designs are popping up today in some of the Stamp Simply Design Team Circle:

Stamp Simply Sketch Challenge!

"Rise and Shine!"

This week's Stamp Simply Challenge (ssnotime144): Sharon challenged us to create a design around the following sketch:

What a great layout for a quick and easy card!

No stamping here today...I pulled a Crafty Secrets Cotton Scraps "#15 Feathered Friends" image (from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store) from my stash, and trimmed it with my fabric shears. EASY!

This rooster and hen having a toast breakfast in bed put an immediate smile upon my face!

October Afternoon's "Thrift Shop"papers (Stamp Simply Ribbon Store) are a perfect foil for this image...they have somewhat of a vintage, country feel.

Some striped Red & Ivory May Art's ribbon, along with an oversized black brad, finish this design.

Check out the rest of the Stamp Simply Challenge team's artistry:

Love is a Fruit

Yes, I am officially hooked on these lace flowers!!! The "Way to Use It" Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers calls for "Raving on Ribbon" using ribbon--in a different way! Well, I consider this lace ribbon...and this is the different way that I have been using it as of late!

I am presenting a couple of new items today: a "Wordsworth Remembering Famous Women" set quote (Mother Teresa), and Basic Grey's new Cappella papers, both available at the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store!

The Wordsworth clear set features five marvelous quotes from famous women, along with a pretty floral image. Versafine Sepia ink (Stamp Simply Ribbon Store) was used to stamp the quote, which was then die cut with a Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Thirteen die (Stamp Simply Ribbon Store).

Basic Grey's Cappella papers are so subtle and elegant! You can purchase this paper by the pad, or as part of a gorgeous new kit from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store!

My lace and ribbon blossom were created with May Art's Ivory Wide Crocheted Lace, along with May Art's 5/8" Ivory Lace and 1/4" Moss Silk ribbons (both the 5/8" and moss ribbon are part of the Stamp Simply Cappella kit!)

What is really great right now: the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store is running a sale on all May Art's Ribbons BY THE SPOOL-- 15% off until Monday morning, June 21st at 8 a.m.

You may recall that I recently posted a mini tutorial featuring this lacy blossom. If you would like to see it again, view it HERE.

Hope your day is great! Thanks for stopping by!

SCS Sketch Challenge: Thinking of You!

Now that school is out, I can play the challenges over at Splitcoaststampers.com! Playing the challenges is a great way to get those creative juices flowing...one of my favorites is the weekly Wednesday Sketch Challenge, hosted by Rox71!

Here is my take on today's challenge... I ended up flipping the sketch to suit the sentiment, and exchanged daisies for the small inchie squares.

This fun Basic Grey paper is "Max & Whiskers" available from Our Daily Bread designs. What a delightful pad of fun designs...fun prints, including pet related designs!

The sentiment here is also from Our Daily Bread designs. It's from their new June release set, "God Loves You." The font on this set is just plain pretty! I stamped the sentiment with Memento Rich Cocoa ink, then layered it beneath the center daisy, along with a grosgrain ribbon touch.

Yes, daisies! One of my favorite flowers! These "Cashew" Prima Daisy Dreams are just one of the beauties that you can chose from over at Our Daily Bread designs! There are three colorways included in each Daisy Dreams set...check them out!

Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Kraft Card and Vacation Pics!

As you may have noticed, I have not been around...My husband and I made a trip to Colorado to visit our youngest son, Joel, who is a forester that works in the mountains. On the way home we attended the wedding of a son of some of our closest friends (thanks Kathie and Mike!) in South Dakota. The entire trip was relaxing and so very enjoyable!

Here's a quick card that I made today...

I began with Our Daily Bread design's new June release, "From Me to You." This set includes a beautiful fushia image, along with one Bible verse (Numbers 6:24) and three sentiments.

I wanted to create a kraft cardstock design today, so stamped the fushia flower image directly onto the kraft paper with Versafine Black Onyx ink.

After allowing the ink to dry, I carefully shaded in the blossoms and leaves with Copic Sketch markers. I typically do not Copic color with Versafine ink, due to smearing, but accidentally used the Versafine to stamp the image rather than my usual Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I cut the image out; then stamped the image once again on a kraft panel, layering the cut flowers on top with dimensional dots.

Pink accents, along with a bit of distressing finish this design.

Following are a few of the pictures that I took while travelling...

Beautiful views around every turn!

The Sweet Smells of Summer~with Candy!

Ah...Summer! Our Stamp Simply Ribbon Store Design Team is celebrating "The Sweet Smells of Summer..." in this month's blog hop! Such a glorious time of the year!

I decided to go with beach glass colors, crisp gingham, and a beachy scene--
can't you just smell the fresh air?!?

I began my card with an image from JustRite's new release, "By the Sea," available from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. This new set features four summery images, as well as four different border possibilities. Good news~~Sharon is RUNNING A SALE ON ALL JUSTRITE PRODUCT IN STOCK at the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store -- 20% OFF entire inventory of IN STOCK items of JustRite!

I stamped the beach scene with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then colored it with numerous Copic Sketch markers. Spellbinder Classic Oval dies (also from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store) were used to create the image panel and frame.

I just love the bluegreen tones of beach glass...this crisp gingham paper is October Afternoon's "Fly a Kite" (Stamp Simply Ribbon Store). It has an old fashioned feel, bringing back memories of a gingham sleeveless blouse from when I was young.

A bit of May Art's Ivory Crocheted Ribbon (Stamp Simply Ribbon Store) adds a lacey border touch.

Now, for the best part! Sharon is offering up a sweet gift of blog candy! The Stamp Simply Basic Grey Cappella Kit will go to one fortunate person! Be sure to see all of the sweet details on Sharon's Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and blog.

The rest of the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store design team have come up with some glorious projects:

Thanks so much for joining in on our hop today--I hope that you found some new ideas that you can use! Best wishes in winning the blog candy!

Sweet Stuff!!!

Today's Stamp Simply (ssnotime142) Challenge: Sweet Stuff! ~~today's challenge comes to us from Jenny Gropp. Jenny wants us to create a card or a project featuring something SWEET.... a cake, cupcake or candy! It can be a stamp image, paper or an embellishment~~whatever you have in your stash that fits the theme. Thanks to Jenny for the fun challenge!!!

I have a pad of SEI glitter paper called "Happy Day" from Our Daily Bread designs...I've long waited to pair these playful sheets with May Art's Reversible 1" Satin Ribbon from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store...what a combo!!! This aqua blue color reverses to a lime green...yum...a perfect match to these papers!

Speaking of bows and ribbon, this bow was tied using a "Bow Easy" (Stamp Simply Ribbon Store) and let me tell you, it does make bow tying easy! I used to be "bow challenged," but am no longer!

The gloss from the satin, along with the subtle glimmer from the decorator paper, really makes this design *POP*! There's no stamping here...the sentiment is also part of the "Happy Day" pad...a bit of Diamond Stickles adds a glow to the candle flames.

I hope that you like this "sweet" design! Be sure to check out the rest of the Stamp Simply Challenge DT designs:

Our Daily Bread design's June Hop!

Welcome to Our Daily Bread design's June NEW Release Blog Hop! If you have come here from Angella Crockett's blog, you're in the right place! If you've just happened by, please head back to Our Daily Bread design's blog, where the hop begins...that way, you won't miss a thing!

Also...BLOG CANDY!!! There are three hidden blog candy prizes along the hop! Be sure to leave comments at ALL of the blogs, then head back to ODBD's blog to leave a comment THERE! This puts you in the running for one of three $15.00 ODBD Gift Certificates, compliments of Kelley!

Now, onto my design for today...

I began with Our Daily Bread design's new June release, "Scripture Series 1." Six precious Bible verses make up this new set. I stamped the verse with Versafine Black Onyx ink, the heat set it with fine detail embossing powder. A Spellbinder Long Rectangle die was used to die cut the verse panel.

New designer paper--6 X 6" Basic Grey's "Kioshi," also available at Our Daily Bread designs, sets the pretty factor for this card. There is a hint of black in the pattern, which called out for black accents to be added to the design.

An EK Success Dotted Wave Border Punched accent, along with black twill dressed with a button, finishes this June 1st design.

Be sure to head to Chris Dickinson's blog next!
