Shabby Tea Room and Day Two of the Black Friday Sale!

I wanted to play in this week's Shabby Tea Room Challenge: "Week 37~~Pick a Cause."  Hostess Nicole challenges us to create a design keeping a charity or cause in mind...my choice: Susan G. Komen for the Cure...informing and supporting women for and about breast cancer. My design has a woman in the design, a blushing bride in fact, touched with peachy pink accents.

Isn't she lovely? Look at her lovely, blushing cheek! These gorgeous layers of paper are all from Graphic 45's Le Romantique decorator pad...my designer choice for sale through Sunday at the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store's Black Friday Sale. The entire list of Graphic 45 papers on sale are listed in my previous post, found HERE

Sharon also has the "Le Romantique" papers in kit form, found HERE.

The beautiful, peachy flowery trim is Webster's Pages "Bloomers" in "Petal." I just cut a strip of flowers, glued it down with dabs of quick dry glue...so easy, yet so pretty! See both the Petal color and multi color Webster's Pages Fabric Flower Bloomers HERE.

A narrow May Art's Silk ribbon bow topped with a Webster's Pages Vintage Sparkler Button, along with a border of May Art's Ivory lace peeking from behind a panel, finish this wedding card design.

I hope that you've enjoyed my design for today! Be sure to check out the big sale over at the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store...Sharon has a TON of items listed!

Thanks to the Shabby Tea Room for delightful weekly challenges!

Have a wonderful weekend~~!!!

Check out my design for today's hop. I used the Graphic 45 papers from "Christmas Past." What a glorious, old fashioned array of prints!

A bit of distressing, along with chunky glitter and pearls, make a wonderful backdrop to highlight the gorgeous Prima blossoms: Lilliput Roses in Marshmallow, and Fairytale roses in Coral.

My sentiment for today is from JustRite's Christmas Nested Sentiments, stamped with Versafine Sepia ink.

A soft and lovely May Art's Ivory Silk Ribbon, tied with the assistance of a Bow Easy, adds the final touch to this Christmas Past design.

Stamp Simply Challenge: Black Friday!

Happy Thanksgiving! What a wonderful day to spend with family and friends...I hope all of your day was filled with loved ones and thankful thoughts!

This week's Stamp Simply Challenge (ssnotime167) is to use black in our design, with inspiration from that big-time, day after Thanksgiving shopping day, "Black Friday." I must admit that I avoid shopping the day after Thanksgiving...preferring to be a "stick in the mud!" But to all who enjoy the early hours and crowds...have a marvelous time!

My "Black Friday" design features JustRite's new cling stamp set: "Bee Ride."

I stamped and paper pieced the image, adding glimmery touches to the fairy and bee wings. Fun!

The purple toned design paper is from Cosmo Cricket's "Mitten Weather" 6 X 6" Mini Deck.

A Prima flanked with May Art Black Twill tabs add the final touch.

All supplies used are available at the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store! Make sure that you check out the "Black Friday" Hop and Sale over at Stamp Simply...8 a.m. Friday morning!

The rest of the Stamp Simply Challenge Team are ready and waiting for you to check out their designs:

Stamp Simply Harvest

It's Harvest Time for this week's Stamp Simply Challenge Nov. 19 --ssnotime166--Well Preserved--"Is anyone out there still canning, or freezing or drying your summer harvest? Or is anyone preparing those previously preserved goodies for Thanksgiving or Christmas gifts? Today is all about preserving our fruits of the harvest. Take this food related theme wherever it brings you -- use food type stamps, papers or embellishments on a card, decorate a jar of canned goods, or even wrap and decorate a chocolate bar -- we're easy! Let's just see some lovely fruits, veggies or any type of edible in today's creations!!!"

My design features JustRite's new cling stamp set "A Day in the Country." What a great image to color! JR's new cling stamps are deeply etched red rubber and come on a handy dandy storage card! I've yet to purchase the storage boxes, but will do so very soon.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored it with Copic Sketch markers, then die cut it with Spellbinders Classic Oval dies.

Take a gander at the fabulous Cosmo Cricket "Wanted" decorator papers! The colors and prints are subdued and worn...second hand GREAT! A bit of stitching, distressing and sponging make for quick texture and interest.

May Art's Natural Twine with vintage button wrap up this design!

All supplies used today are from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Thankful Joy Banner

This week, the Shabby Tea Room challenges us..."What are you thankful for?" (week 36)...to create a design showing something that we are thankful for, with inspiration drawn from a photo of some delicious cupcakes...yummy!

This project was made up just for a friend from my stamping group that has been undergoing some difficult health issues and surgery. Our group is meeting tonight for dinner to celebrate her success thus far. I wanted to make a little something for her, something that exudes my joy and thankfulnes for her...as well as the upcoming Christmas season. So, it's not Thanksgiving, or match the photo per se...but does have a lot of "frosting!"

Have you ever seen Kelly Lunceford's (atomicbutterfly) beautiful banners? I have always wanted to attempt one, so decided this is the time!

I began creating my banner with the Stamp Simply Glad Tidings Ornament Kit, from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. The kit includes fiber board KaiserCraft ornament shapes...perfect for covering with decorator paper. It also features the beautiful K and Company Glad Tidings 12" X 12" paper pad.

These items may also be purchased separately.

I did add a few items not included in the kit: chipboard letters, gold cording, gold chunky glitter, and a sticker from the Glad Tidings Dimensional Sticker pack.

I just love these accordian flowers.  They're so easy to make, yet add such a special dimensional touch!  Kelly has a great tutorial on her blog found HERE.

Thanks so very much Kelly, for the inspiration that you provide to so many of us!

ETA: This is a sizable banner...each panel measures 6" X 9"...making it very substantial...

After checking out Kelly's blog for inspiration, make sure that you do the same at the Shabby Tea Room site...the entries always make for beautiful viewing!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Non~Traditional Christmas Colors Done Stamp Simply Style

Welcome to this week's Stamp Simply Challenge #165:

The non~traditional colors that I chose are shown above, taken from Crate Paper's "Snow Day Collection" 6 X 6" pad! The papers and prints in this collection are so very bright and happy...they just make you smile! I especially love this friendly snowman print!

My design is quite simple: layers of pleasant papers, accented with some very pretty extras!

See the fuzzy, fluffy trim border? It's from Webster's Pages "Holiday Trim" card.

Here's another detail closeup:

I used Spellbinder's Snowflake die to layer up a frosty flake...with a touch of glimmer thanks to a Webster's Pages "Sparkler."

A "Christmas Nested Sentiments" verse from JustRite is the "just right" touch for these merry men!

All of the supplies used today are from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store... be sure to check out the large selection of Christmas goodies, kits, and supplies!

The rest of the Stamp Simply Challenge Team are ready and waiting for you to drop by and see their non~traditional offerings:

Stamp Simply Tag Challenge

This week's Stamp Simply Challenge issued by Sharon: "Nov. 5 - ssnotime164 - Tags are Fun! -- Who doesn't like to make a tag or two! Tags are small canvases to decorate that we pass on with a gift or use to embellish a card or other project. Today we are making tags -- could be Christmas tags or ANY tag you might need for any occasion -- whether it be a tag to hang on a bag handle or gift or an adornment for a card or other project, let's just have some fun today making tags!!!"

Tags ARE fun! Mine is quite large, outfitted to fit a simply decorated, handled brown bag.

These cute reindeer papers are from KaiserCraft's "Be Merry Collection" 6 X 6" decorator pad.

I thought the deer from the Wordsworth "Holiday Stylized" set would go well with the festive deer and stripe prints. The "Merry Christmas" sentiment is also from "Holiday Stylized."

A bit of machine stitching, Kaiser red rhinestones, and May Art's Gingham Ribbon add extra interest and texture.

Paper, Wordsworth stamp set, ribbon, ink and rhinestones are all available at the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Don't forget about the sale happening now at the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store: 25% discount on all of JustRite's Christmas stamps from their original line!

I can't wait to see the rest of the Stamp Simply Challenge Team's tag designs!

I stamped the snowy church scene with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored it with Copic Sketch markers, then added touches of Diamond Stickles for a icy, gleaming look.

Did you notice the lacy blossom that I created? So easy--I have a tutorial HERE for you to check out if you would like to make one too! The trim, silk ribbon, and sparkler are all included in the Stamp Simply Kit!

A Christmas greeting from the JR "Simple Blessings" set, stamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink (crisp and clean for sentiments!) and die cut with Spellbinders ribbon tag die adds a finishing touch.
