Spring and Summer Coffee Lover's Blog Hop

Here's my card for the hop. Not exactly spring and summer tones...

coffee shades all of the way! 

Folks are longing to enjoy a cup together again...thus this perfect sentiment from Stamp Simply's "A Cup of Java" clear stamp set. Stamp Simply has a couple of wonderful coffee/tea stamp sets, as well as coffee/tea dies to coordinate. You can see them HERE.

The dies used here, however, are Tim Holtz/Sizzix "Cafe Colorize" dies, also available at Stamp Simply.

I began by die cutting the Tim Holtz "Cafe" dies out of Ranger Watercolor paper. You can certainly "colorize" the cups using different shades of cardstock; I enjoy using inks and watercolors so started with a blank canvas.  Colorize dies are etched with color names on the back of the dies making for easy building. You can, of course, use whatever colors you desire.

I used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks in numerous shades, then built the cups using Tom Bow Mono Multi Liquid glue.

The base background is Craft Consortium's "Wood Textures" cardstock. A border of May Art's 2.5" Cotton Blend Vintage Plain ribbon adds some texture to sit beneath the coffee cups. 

The Stamp Simply "A Cup of Java" sentiment is stamped using Versafine Claire Acorn ink, then die cut with Spellbinder Square Nestabilities dies. Scor-Tape and Thermoweb 3D Foam is used thoughout the design.
