Leafy Birthday

This is a project for a male birthday--I was to make a 3 x 3 card top and birthday card using Always Artichoke, Black and a splash of other color. I decided to add Marigold Morning to the mix.

I started with an Always Artichoke card base, layering it with the black, Marigold and Stampin' Up's Artichoke designer papers. I used Stampin' Up's retired Autumn for my images. I stamped the long leaf with Memento Tuxedo Black onto PaperTrey Ink's Vintage Cream that I had die cut with Nestabilities Long Rectangles. I colored it with my Copic markers and then stamped a different leaf from the set, colored and cut it out, and mounted it with dimensional tape to the image panel. I layered the panel onto a black layer, then used my SU Photo Corner punch to create the two Marigold photo corners.

The 3 X 3 card top was done in the same manner, using the same supplies. The Copic colors that I used were BG93, YG11, YG03, YR21, Y17, C1, and 0 Blender pen.
Hope your week has a great start! Thanks for stopping by!

Deb, these are stunning! I love the colors you chose. I thought they were real leaves when I first looked at them. Your coloring is fantastic! I hope some day you can teach me how you do it! Great job!

Deb, this really is beautiful and just perfect for masculine cards. I love your choice of Marigold for your splash of color. I swear, I really thought those were purchased leaf elements. You did an amazing job!

Beautiful, beautiful cards Deb, I love this set and what you did with it. I didn't get your feed for these cards, so strange, it's been acting up on me for the past few weeks.
