Birthday Blog Candy...

I must say a BIG thanks to all of the wonderful birthday wishes-- you all sure know how to make a gal feel good!

I just wanted to share an "oldie, but goodie" along with my blog candy give away! This is a get well design, but could easily be used for a birthday card with a switch in sentiments.

It's a pretty straight forward design using red printed dp (Crafty Secrets Rustic), Real Red and Basic Black for a "country" feel. I stamped the retired Stampin' Up image (Give Thanks) with Adirondack Pitch Black ink, then colored it with numerous Copic markers. Spellbinder circle and scalloped dies were used for the cut.
A Wordsworth sentiment, along with brads, ribbons and bows finish this design.
NOW...for the blog candy!
I have a Spellbinder Die Set, Prima Flowers, ribbon and other goodies to give away to one fortunate person. My only requirement be that you tell me about one of your favorite birthday memories from when you were a child, leaving your story on this post.
I'm looking forward to reading about your special memories! Thanks for stopping by on my special day!

I will choose a winner Sunday, January 24th at 6 p.m. EST. Best Wishes to all!

Happy Birthday! My favorite bd memory as a child was sharing my parties with my twin brother so we were the only ones who got to have boy-girl parties and that was fun. With a birthday at the end of March, sometimes we got to go outside and play with the boys and sometimes there was still a lot of snow (in northern Wisconsin you just never know.)

From a Deb to a Deb! Cute card and GREAT candy. And as for the birthday memory.....when I turned 50, my daughter and Granddaughter drove a '65 Ford Mustang in our town's celebration with a sign saying "If you see Deb_____, wish her a happy big 50 birthday". And I thought they had completely forgotten!

My best bd memories stemmed from a bad accident that left me disabled. For weeks I just stared out the window not wanting to do anything. For my 50th bd, my daughter decided I needed a "jump start" back into life - she took me to get a tatoo to the shock of family and friends. I told her if I did this, I wanted it where I could see it - a beautiful wolf's head with Indian feathers in the softed colors imaginable was placed on my left upper chest. Only my doctor and I ever get to see it but doing something so totally different from my norm did the trick. Now it's a reminder that I've lived through a really tough time and come through laughing.

Well happy birthday!!!!
My favorite BD as a child was receiving a birthday card from my grandmother who live in Florida and we live in Tennessee. She would send me a check in it. My mother would have me sign it and then she would cash it,and then she would take me to the 5 & dime store.. We didn't have Wal-Mart back then...LOL and it seem I would always get high heels. I felt so grown up in them. Then of course there would be other stuff I got. Because she would send me $5.00 and that bought alot back then....When we got home my mother had made me a birthday cake from scratch and was so good.
I just turn 52 this month....thanks for the memory lane....
have a happy birthday....

I hope you had a great birthday. My favorite birthda? It's hard to choose, cuz they are usually really nice days spent with family and friends. I did have a really nice one after I was first separated. I invited all my girl friends over for a bbq--tons of fun and laughter. It was great.

Happy birthday Deb! My fav bday memory was when I was 9, and I received a gorgeous roller skating jacket. I was so proud to wear it to school that day! :) Those were the days...

Happy Birthday, Deb! You share this wonderful day with my one and only daughter! It really is a great day! My favorite birthday memories as a child were of homemade decorated cakes by my Mom. I'm 48 now, and she still brings a beautiful cake every year to me at work!

Happy Birthday Deb!!! I hope you have a great day! I love the card and the colors are one of my favorite combinations. As far as my favorite birthday...My birthday is four days after Christmas so it was hard to get a special birthday. People were partied out and out of money. But when I was thirteen my mother had me a great party and it was special because it was the first party since I was very small. Well, I did have parties but just with family. When I was turning into a teenager my mom managed to get all my friends over without me knowing and the girls got to stay all night. I can remember it like it was yesterday. All us girls never went to sleep, we giggled all night playing pranks on different ones. I was so surprised and also thankful to my mother for all she had done.

If my number comes up I hope you will forgive me for not having a birthday memory. For religious reasons we don't celebrate birthdays. However, I can tell you my favourite memory of an anniversary (my parents) because we celebrate that instead. My mom knew I was going camping for the first time with friends. Not from a camping family, I had to beg borrow and not quite steal equipment from everywhere. My gift for anniversary was quite small, definitely not camping equipment! Inside a small box was a Swiss army knife and a note to check the garage. There I found a lantern, another note, a trip to the basement for a set of metal camp dishes! Next on to reveal a stove, sleeping bag etc. What a fun surprise!

Happy Birthday Deb, Hope you have had a great day! I thought of you many many times today and wish the best to a very special friend! You are one in a million. My favorite childhood memory, well that is too far back to remember but one about 20 years ago was when Mike was going to make me a cake and he kept asking from the kitchen - now what do I do!! LOL

Happy birthday to you! Hmmmm, I don't have a lot of birthday memories. The most memorable was probably my 18th birthday. Nothing special happened, it was just a milestone in life. I guess that's why it's memorable.

I was so excited to find a talking Dr. Doolittle doll hidden in the back of our station wagon. I told my mom it was there and she said it was not for me. My world had come to an end. but lo and behold, she was wrong! on my birthday, there he was Dr. Doolittle and I was sure he was going to teach me to talk to the animals too!

Happy Birthday Deb, I always had to share my birthday with my little brother, he was two whole years younger than me and I felt so cheated to have to share it with him. Could not have friends home cause he would not have one, now I wish I could trade him those two years but, let him be older, but even more share a birthday with him, he's in CA, I'm in PA. That would be my best gift, miss him so much. Maybe someday my grown-up dream will come true. thanks, rosie

I remember my 50th bd more than any others! At that time I was undergoing chemotherapy, single, and raising my youngest daughter who was 16. I also was teaching her to drive and I had let her drive me home from work. When she got in front of the house I saw where she had put up a 50th birthday banner across the front porch so all of the neighbors would know it was my birthday! She also had decorated the dining room in a birthday theme. This was so touching and it is something I don't think I will ever forget! Happy birthday to you.

Love this card!! I will hit ebay and see if I can find the retired SU Set now!!
My favorite BD memory growing up was the year I turned 7. I kept waiting all day but no one mentioned my BD. Mom finally told me that I was too old for a cake, etc. Broke my heart! Then my grandmother called and asked if I would help her "cut the grass"!! I am thinking, GReat!! What a BD this is!! When I walked in the door in my old clothes, all my family and friends from the neighborhood were there!! Best BD ever!! Ah, to be 7 again!!

Happy birthday! I hope this birthday brings you a year full of wonderful events! One of my fondest memories is of a cake that my mother made for me. I don't know how she did it (probably food coloring and frosting), but I had the most fabulous pastel-multicolored cake I had ever seen. Colors just swirled around and into each other. She surrounded that lovely cake with cupcakes frosted with the same gorgeous frosting! I'm sure my Dad just scratched his head, but I loved it. I was probably about 10 or 11 when this happened :)

Happy Birthday! Mine was the 12th. Oh, for childhood birthday memories. Before we moved back to Mother's home town, my Granny would send me her homemade angel food cake and then Mother would make 7 minute icing and I got to lick the beaters!!! Even after we moved to Granny's, she made my cake. I guess I was 12 and my daddy came in with a gift that he had chosen and wrapped - a headscarf with the pictures of the actresses from the movie Little Women!!! Oh, how thrilled I was. As an adult my grown up children have pulled a couple of surprises on "special year" b-days. On my 50th, the 5 of them arrived in separte cars honking their horns like crazy! I was in sweats and no make-up. My dh was in on it and he cooked hamburgers for all of us! Then on my 60th, they picked my up after school (I was a teacher) in a stretch limo!!!! Took me home to change and then to Buckhead in Atlanta for dinner.

Happy Birthday and you don't look like you are 50. My favortie birthday memory was when I was about 8 years old and my birthday fell on Mother's Day, my birthday, and my First Holy Communion. It was a big celebration day and I loved it so much. Pat

Happy Birthday! No real favorite birthdaysw, but always had as many friends over as I was old and a homemade birthday cake my Mom would make. YUM! Even better was the year my parents were away and my Grandmother made me a Lazy Daisy cake (oatmeal cake with coconut, brown sugar and butter "icing").

Happy, happy day to you!!

One of my favorite memories for birthday parties is my mom would make pull taffee and my friends and I would see who could get it the whitest by working it the best and who had the most left when you were finished because it was hard to do without either dropping it or eating it. Reminds me I need to do this with my grandkids it is very fun. Happy Birthday 50 is young!

hmmmm, my favourite birthday memory?! Do you know, I don't think that I have one that stands out!! What I do remember from each of the birthdays is that I would have fireworks in the back garden - because my birthday is November 7th - two days after November 5th - which is Bonfire Night in the UK - with lots of fireworks!
