Christmas in July!

Christmas in July! As the temperature continues to rise, take time to cool off with the Stamp Simply Friday Challenge (ssnotime147): create a Christmas design or project!

I've also entered this design on Splitcoaststampers Friday "Free for All" Challenge: to use something for the first time; and the Shabby Tea Room's Challenge "Let's Make an Impression": to use embossing somewhere in your design.

My Christmas in July design features nontraditional, coooool colors...perfect for skyrocketing temperatures!  The designer paper that I used today is My Mind's Eye Signature Christmas Holiday Glitter Book (Hobby Lobby). Most of the sheets in the pack have a subtle glimmer as well as a bit of texture.

May Art's tan gingham ribbon (the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store) acts as a border between dp prints. A sentiment from Our Daily Bread designs (Joy to the World) was stamped with Versafine Sepia ink (Stamp Simply Ribbon Store), then die cut with a Spellbinders Long Rectangle die.

Spellbinders also has a lovely "Poinsettia" die set (Stamp Simply Ribbon Store)...three different sized dies to create layered poinsettia blossoms.

I cut five layers from vellum, then sponged and textured them with Stampin' Up's Itty Bitty Background Stipple stamp dipped in Soft Sky ink.

A Martha Stewart punched snowflake and Michael's copper decorative brad finish the center of this poinsettia.
