JustRite Shabby Chic Autumn Leaves

Hello! I just wanted to post a couple of cards that I assisted my stamping group with the other evening.

The group that meets at my home are primarily new stampers...so I have been teaching them simple cards using different techniques and supplies.

We used JustRite's "Shabby Chic Autumn Leaves" stamp set for both cards.

We used the "Cracked Glass" technique for the first card--minus the cracking. This gave the leaf a nice sheen, but also caused it to warp slightly, just as a fallen, collected leaf would do. The Versafine Sepia ink stamped sentiment is also a part of the Shabby Chic Autumn Leaves set.

The second card features distressing and chalk coloring:

You can purchase JustRite's "Shabby Chic Autumn Leaves" at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. You can purchase the supplies for the Cracked Glass technique there as well: Versamark Watermark Stamp Pad and Melt Art "Ultra Thick Embossing Powder."

When you read this, I will be enjoying a week of job training in Bangkok, Thailand. Hopefully I will get some great pictures to share with you!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Beautiful cards. I was wondering if you would be interested in posting the techniques used on the 2nd card. Thanks.

Gorgeous cards...leaves are one of my favorite things! Would love to know how you did the second card...did you use distress inks and spritz before stamping?

Beautiful cards! I try to look for a "take-away" idea or message - and from your post, I realize that I don't always recognize when people are new to stamping or card-making and that I really do need to back it up and show them the basics. These are not very basic (in my honest opinion) but they're not hard either - so they would be "magic" for a beginner. They are certainly gorgeous!

Thanks for the inspiration!
Hugs!
