Springtime Coffee
Has Spring actually sprung? Unfortunately not for some of my family in friends in the chilly northern United States! They are still getting snow and below zero temperatures, with a warm day thrown in occasionally. I long to be home for a cuppa coffee with my friends, even though temperatures have been quite balmy here in Africa...we will be entering winter soon, but not like any winter that I have ever experienced before!
So, far from home, but still able to dream...JustRite's small cling set "Coffee Cup" fits the bill for today's design.
I stamped the coffee cup with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then colored it with Copic Sketch markers. I hand trimmed it, then mounted it on layers of dp from Graphic 45's "Sweet Sentiments Collection" 8X8" pad using Thermoweb 3D Foam Strips. There is a lovely sentiment that comes with the JR Coffee Cup set, but alas it was too large for the postcard panel. I hunted down a tiny JustRite clear sentiment from their "Antique Valentine Tags One" set and stamped it with Versafine Onyx Black ink.
You will notice that I have chosen lace borders rather than a bow this time around..."Cluny Lace 1" Natural." Sparkling Kaisercraft Rhinestones add a bit of bling to finish things off.
All linked supplies are from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.
Have a great finish to your week! Thanks so much for stopping by!
Love this - so very pretty!
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful Deb! I love the softness of this card. How are winters in Africa? We woke up to a cold snap, 44 outside, that's cold for us in Florida, especially since yesterday was in the 70's, the weather is crazy!
ReplyDeleteYour card is stunning Deb. Gorgeous colors.
ReplyDeleteHi Deb~
ReplyDeleteThis is a dream card! I love the cup itself and all of the lacey goodness. I love the colors you chose...and yes, I realize I keep using the word "love!" lol I collect tea cups and saucers and tea pots...which this could be. I have since my bridal shower. This takes me back to those times of Dave's and my marriage.
Deb, cold here in FL today...started at 45 degrees this morning. Not as bad as my family up north. I have no idea what winters are like in Africa. I would love to know. Do they have 4 seasons, or 2 like FL....summer and 2 months of winter...dry but cool.
I pray you and your family are well. I know you must miss people back home. I'm sure they miss you and love you more than ever, too.
