I've finished the Valentine that I am going to send MY Valentine who is currently overseas. I need to get it in the mail so it is delivered in a timely manner. Since it will be traveling half way around the world, I decided to make it quite flat, with just a bit of dimension.
Even though I was shooting for "flat," I still wanted it to have some special touches that would stand out. Stencil and paste embossing fit the bill...along with a curved border and a cheesecloth embellished heart!
I began with basic white cardstock, then used Tim Holtz "Lace" stencil and Dreamweavers White Embossing Paste to cover the main panel. I die cut the curve with Spellbinders Scalloped Border Dies 2 and then also applied the lace stencil/embossing paste to it. I glued the scalloped piece onto the stenciled background using Tombow Mono Multi Glue.
I did emboss the heart before die cutting it with a Spellbinders Classic Heart die. The heart is embellished with a Kaisercraft pearl and then layered over Dritz cheesecloth.
The stencil embossed panel is popped up with some Thermoweb 3D Foam strips.
Hope my Honey likes it!
