Hello, welcome! I promised a set of Distress Oxide watercolor cards a few days ago, and here they are!
As mentioned in the previous post, I have been having so much fun creating with Tim Holtz' Distress Oxide inks...along with some of my favorite stamp sets from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. These cards feature Stamp Simply Clear "Words of Encouragement."
Ranger Watercolor Paper was used once again, with Versafine Onyx Black ink to stamp the Bible verses. The watercolor paper is neat as it has two different textures...one smoother and the flip side more dimpled. The Versafine ink is my choice for sentiment stamping--it gives such a clear impression...along with help from my Tim Holtz Tonic Stamp Platform. The stamp platform allows for stamping more than once to insure a crisp, clear verse. The platform has an open edge so that you can fit pretty much any size cardstock into it. Love that!
To create these watery backgrounds, I began with dabbing the Distress Oxide ink onto a Ranger Non-stick Craft Mat Sheet, then sprayed water with a Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer onto the ink to water it down. A larger paint brush was used to brush the paint onto these designs.
After the paint dried, the Bible verse was stamped on the panel. A bit of bling (Prima Say it in Crystals Combo Royal Menagerie) was added with Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue, and the layers were built with Thermoweb 3D Foam Strips for dimension.
The cross hatching in the center of this design was achieved with a nearly dry brush, loaded with a minimal amount of paint.
Also love the look of matching colors of cardstock for the base.

Hello again Deb! In the third card shown would you please let me know the colors used in the cards sheet and TH oxide (I haven't used yet.) I love the color of the papers! Periwinkle or is it just my migraine not seeing clearly? I tried to read the supply list, but It's too difficult for me to look at the screen today. It's day 3. I'll have to look back and see how used that product of TH's. Thank you, Deb! Hope your catvhing onto the language over there!

Hi Traci: The ink colors were Tim Holtz Distress Oxides in Cracked Pistachio, Faded Jeans, and Salty Ocean. Broken China probably was also used...the cardstock colors are old Stamping Up colors, no longer in the packages...I believe they are Almost Amethyst and Sage Shadow. Not positive though. Thanks!
