Watercolor with Oxides: Featuring Stamp Simply Do Not Fear Stamp Set

Hi there! Now that I've gotten my shipment of goodies, I have been itching to dip my fingers into my Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks...

So, I settled into my little craft room and had some fun!

I began by inking up some Ranger Watercolor paper with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide "Peeled Paint" and "Iced Spruce" colors.

To do so, I pressed the ink pad of the two different colors onto my Ranger Non Stick Craft Mat Sheet, then sprayed with water (using my Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer). I rubbed the watercolor paper right over the inky puddles, making a mottled background. I then let the inky panel air dry.

After drying, I die cut the panel with Spellbinders Die D-Lites Flutters die (butterfly) and Spellbinders Wreath die.

For the first card: Ranger Watercolor paper was cut into layered background panels; paint brush strokes with the watered down oxide inks to create "grass" were added to the top layer. Spatters of the ink was also added.

After the grass panel dried, I used my Tim Holtz Tonic Stamp Platform and stamped the Bible verse from the Stamp Simply Clear "Fear Not" stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink directly onto the panel.

The butterfly die cut was then attached with Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue. Thermoweb 3D Foam Strips were used between the card panels to adhere and for dimension.

The second card's layers were also made up of Ranger Watercolor Paper. The top layer was die cut using JustRite's A2 Stitched Banners and Rectangles die set.

The Bible verse from the Stamp Simply Clear "Fear Not" stamp set was stamped to the die cut panel using the Tim Holtz Tonic Stamp Platform once again, along with with Versafine Onyx Black ink

The die cut wreath was glued onto this rectangle panel using Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue. May Art's 1/4" Silk Ribbon and Kaisercraft Rhinestones add a pretty touch. Thermoweb 3D Foam Strips were once again used for dimension.

All linked supplies are from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Here's a short video that I made using the Words of Encouragements and Fear Not stamp sets:

I hope that you enjoyed these designs. I have another group in blue tones to show you soon!
