Aviary Collage Paper--You are a Blessing!

--this one is "Aviary"--
such beautiful prints..right up my vintage alley!

The collage paper is on a roll and measures 6 inches wide by 6 yards in length. The size makes is usable for many different type projects, and it can be cut or torn using a bit of water. This "paper" is a heavy tissue paper, which needs to be adhered to another cardstock or base. You can use pretty much any type of collage medium to do so, such as Mod Podge, or Ranger Collage Medium.

I began by adhering my collage paper to a piece of white cardstock. The collage paper is somewhat transparent, so the color of cardstock which you choose will show through. I then added a bit of textural interest with a Tim Holtz Layering Stencil (Tim Holtz Gothic Stencil) and Dreamweaver's Embossing Paste.

I used a bit of watered down Dina Wakley Media Gesso to cover the dried embossing paste with a small paintbrush. After the gesso dried, I added a bit of watered down Metallic Lustre Iced Espresso Wax here and there, as well as rubbed some on the edges of the card. A Ranger Craft Mat and Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer works wonders with all of the watered down work...makes for easy clean up.

The sentiment is from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store's clear "Words of Encouragement" stamp set, stamped with Versafine Vintage Sepia ink. Splashes of Tim Holtz Oxide ink and a whitewash of the watered down gesso make for a more distressed look.

The final addition...a shabby bow using the Original Bow Easy and Seam Binding Ribbon, topped with Maya Road's Vintage Leaves pins.

Here's the inside of the design using Stamp Simply's Words of Encouragement:
