Mother's Day Lace

I wanted to show you the card that I recently made to mail to my mother for Mother's Day using Stamp Simply Ribbon Store's new All Occasion Sentiments SET 1 clear stamp set along with their "Get Well Tulip" stamp set and Steel die set.

You can purchase the new sets either individually, or as a combo.

Let me tell you about the tulip first. I stamped using Tim Holtz Distress ink in Antique Linen onto Ranger Watercolor Cardstock
It was then watercolored with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks, using my Ranger Craft Mat and Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer to water down the ink for application with a paint brush. After the inks dried, I die cut the tulip using the Steel Tulip die from Stamp Simply.

I wanted a really lacy background for today's design, with a vintage feel. I cut a watercolor paper panel 4" x 5.25" and covered it with strips of lace...Gabriella and Valentina Venise laces, and May Art's 1.5" and 3/8" Crochet laces.

I layered the tulip over a piece of Dritz Cheesecloth, and glued it to the lace background with Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue

The sentiment from Stamp Simply's All Occasion Sentiments SET 1 was stamped with Versafine Vintage Sepia ink  and secured to the lace background with more Mono Multi glue and a vintage shell button threaded with May Art's Burlap String.

I think that my Mother will love this design, as well as get a kick out of getting one of her old buttons back that she kindly let me pilfer from her button box.

I hope that this design has given you inspiration to create something lacy today!

All linked supplies are from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.
