Autumn Forest-- Two Leafy Cards

The scent, along with the glow of an Autumn forest is breathtaking.  My absolute favorite time of year. The golden tones mixed with shots of bright color mingle
to make the most perfect hike!

I tried to capture this glow and woodsy feel with today's designs featuring stamps and dies from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

The clear stamp set is called "Harvest" and there is a steel die set by the very same name that is available to coordinate with it.

Here is another design using the very same stamp and die sets:

For the first card, I began with Ranger Watercolor paper. A Tim Holtz Layering Stencil in "Birch" was layered over the paper while adding Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks with a Ranger Mini Blending tool and Ranger Craft Mat Sheet. I added numerous earthy tones, then a few water droplets for a bit of distress, all before removing the stencil from the paper.

I also covered a small sheet of the watercolor paper with the oxide ink in order to stamp some leaves and "Autumn" word from the Harvest set. I used Tonic's Tim Holtz stamp platform for clear, double stamping on the textured watercolor paper.

After die cutting the leaves and word with the Harvest steel dies, I layered them onto the woodsy background with May Art's Burlap String, and "Autumn" mounted on a die cut Spellbinder Oval die. This card is sized to fit in a business sized envelope and is fairly flat to mail.

The second card was made using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks once again, but this time layered over a background of kraft cardstock cut with Spellbinders Basic Lattice die. I wanted to show the gradation of leaf colors from green to red...it was fun to make!

Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue and Thermoweb 3D Foam Strips were used to hold it all together.

All linked supplies are from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Have a great remainder to your week,
and enjoy Summer turning to Fall!
