Single Rose Love You

Here's a quick and easy Valentine for your honey, featuring Stamp Simply Ribbon Store's "Thinking of You Rose" and "Rose" steel die. Simple and easy to mail!

I began with a panel of Ranger Watercolor paper, dry brushing with a couple of Tim Holtz Distress inks (Tattered RoseVictorian Velvet, and Bundled Sage) across the background. The "love you so much" sentiment if from the "Thinking of You Rose" clear stamp set, stamped with the Victorian Velvet ink. Some spatters were added for a bit more interest.

The rose was stamped with Versamark Watermark ink, then heat embossed with Ranger Super Fine White embossing powder. Distress inks were used to watercolor the rose, and the Rose steel die was used to die cut it out. I cut four other roses from watercolor paper and glued them all together with Tombow Mono Multi glue to really bump up the thickness of the rose.

The panel was then adhered with dimensional tape to a
base card of watercolor paper.

All linked supplies are from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

There are a lot of specials happening at Stamp Simply Right now-- check them out:

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

This is a beautiful card... love the simplicity of it yet it is very elegant.

By drybrushing to you mean you took a dry paint brush and pulled it across an ink pad to get the color and than pulled the brush across the paper. Love the effect.

Thank you

Your card is beautiful! I just love the background. I've never heard of dry brushing Distress ink. I would love to see a video of that technique.

Thank you All! Bernice: I dry brush by using distress inks watered down; I dip a dry brush into the ink and drag it across the paper. The brush is a flat brush and is about 2 inches wide. Thank you for your kind comment! Annette: thanks so much! I will consider making a video, although I have not done many videos! Thanks for your interest! Renee: thanks so very much for the kind comments!
