May Arts Ribbon Sale at Stamp Simply

Hello, and welcome to inspiration for the May Arts Ribbon Sale over at Stamp Simply! May Art's ribbon is simply the best, well made in so many types and widths! I've chosen some of the striped ribbon for today's project.

Here's the card for the day, suitable as a masculine design, or more specifically a masculine retirement card in this case:

I've started out with a colorful square base card layered with Graphic 45's "Catch of the Day" 8 x 8" decorator paper. Love the crisp, graphics and colors in this pad! So summery with the boating and ocean signage. Great for that retirement card filled with future fishing!

I wrapped the base of the card with a border of May Art's 1.5" Striped Grosgrain ribbon, secured with Scor-Tape. A small "medallion" was created with the ribbon, and tied off with May Art's Burlap String. The ribbon was topped with a sentiment strip made using Stamp Simply's "Michigan Facts" clear stamp set. The round portion of the medallion was die cut with a Spellbinder Classic Circle die, and the sentiment attached was die cut with a Stamp Simply Fishtail Banner Sentiment die. Both sentiments were stamped with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Chipped Sapphire.

The inside of the card features the retirement sentiment from Stamp Simply's "All Occasions Two" clear stamp set and was also die cut with a Stamp Simply Fishtail Banner Sentiment die. An additional piece of May Arts Burlap String adds a bit of interest.
