World Card Making Day

Hello, Friends! Today is "World Card Making Day!" I was not initially planning on posting today, but was in my craft room getting another project together and saw some inky leaves that I had previously made, so figured--GO for it!

These leaves are created with Tim Holtz/Sizzix "Leaf Fragments" thinlet dies. I inked them up with Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stains, letting color layers dry between application so that I would not end up with muddy colors.

The base is a mini slimline size using Kat Scrappiness dies. Loving this small size card!

The sentiment is Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous "Tiny Text"  stamped with Versafine Claire Acorn ink. It's perfect to remind us to get out and enjoy the beautiful colors! I die cut the sentiment strip with a Stamp Simply Fishtail Banner Sentiment die.

Easy to put together and fun for the season! I hope that you have a chance to create today, and if not, gather mounds of inspiration for when you can!

So glad you posted today, Deborah! I am working on autumn leaf cards today! Your card is gorgeous! I love how realistic the leaves look! And, they are perfect in coloring!

Deb, I was actually just on TH website. I'm trying to figure out which of his inks is the brightest white and appropriate to do heat embossing. Do you happen to know? I'm trying to start my holiday cards this week. Thank you for any info you may be able to pass on to me!

Happy Autumn Days!

Thanks so much, Traci! I'm not really sure on his brightest white ink, sorry! I have rarely used white ink, in fact I'm trying to remember when! Sorry that I wasn't more helpful. Have a wonderful Autumn!

Thanks so very much for your kind comments, AZTK! I'm glad that you were inspired and will try the ink sprays again. Waiting until each layer dries is so important. Have a wonderful Autumn!

Hi Traci: after my brain freeze response yesterday I was thinking: when wanting white I usually do heat embossing with Versamark ink and a white embossing powder...I have used Ranger Super Fine Embossing powder in white, and also I know that Brutus Monroe also has some great embossing powders. I hope that you see this and it helps.
