I began by cutting the oval base out of white cardstock with a Spellbinder Oval die. I simply cut, scored, then die cut the paper base with the oval die placed slightly over the scored top edge. You can see the open oval base in the photo below. The oval measures approximately 3.5" x 4.5."
The designer paper is from The Paper Studio Earthy Pink paper pad that was gifted to me. I cut an oval panel of the dp to layer over the top of the oval base.
A Sizzix Tim Holtz Brush Stroke Butterfly die, die cut from Ranger Watercolor paper and spritzed with Ranger Distress/Distress Oxide Sprays for color adds a pretty accent.
The sentiment oval panel is framed with some Paper Trey Ink Linen Vellum, also die cut with a Spellbinder Oval die.
Here's the inside of the card...

Love it, Deb! I raise Monarch butterflies so I'm all about them and hope! Beautiful paper, too!

Thanks so much, Anonymous! Must be fun to raise the butterflies and see them off...wonderful! Shaped cards are fun to make...I forget about them at times. Have a great weekend!
