Shaped Cameo Design

Hello! I wanted to share a shaped card design with you today:

I have always loved Spellbinder's Die D Lites "Silhouette" die. It has a vintage feel and I am always so pleased to use it in a design. This shaped card would be perfect for a woman's birthday, thinking of you, or Mother's Day.

I began by die cutting the base of the card with a Spellbinder Classic Oval die. If you position the die leaving an open space at the top near the fold, you will end up with a shaped card that "hinges" on top. You may have to run the die through more than once; I had to actually take the die off of the front of the cardstock and position it on the back of the cardstock and run it through one more time as it had not cut entirely through in the first pass.

I then cut a Spellbinder Scalloped Classic die shape (similar HERE) and attached it to the front of the card. One more die cut of Kaisercraft's "Ma Cherie" decorator paper to complete the front panel of the card.

I then die cut the silhouette shape from the Kaisercraft paper; layered it upon another Classic Oval die cut from ivory cardstock, then attached it to the base along with the wreath from the "Silhouette" die cut set. Sakura's Quickie Glue Pen was great for adhering the narrow die cuts.

A May Art's 1/4" Silk Bow (made with an Original Bow Easy) and Melissa Frances Pearl accent added a final touch.

Take a look at the inside-- I used a Stamp Simply Clear Blessings/Beatitudes 1 verse, stamped with Versafine Smokey Gray ink.

One last item to show you:

Look at a lovely way to display this card-- Melissa Frances vintage "Bath" Door Knocker. Love these stands...perfect for display or a special event table top accent!

Hope that you enjoyed today's design.

Have a great week!
