Wonderland Christmas Star

The stamp set and die pair wonderfully with Kaisercraft's new "Wonderland" decorator paper. Love the unconventional colors in this lovely pad...perfect for the entire winter season!

I began by stamping the star on Ranger Watercolor Paper with Versafine Smokey Gray ink and my Tonic Stamp Platform. The stamp platform is fabulous for stamping on watercolor paper as it has a bit of texture and you sometimes need to stamp numerous times to get a crisp, clear result.

I then watercolored the stamp using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink in Iced Spruce...wow, the match to the decorator paper was spot on! After the watercoloring dried, I die cut it out with the Stamp Simply Star die, then applied some Stampendous Ultra Fine Translucent Glitter using a Sakuri Quickie Glue Pen.

The base of the card is made up of patterned sheets from the "Wonderland" pad. A layer of May Art's 2.5" Cotton Blend Vintage Ribbon acts as a border beneath one of the strips of decorator paper.

The accent tag was cut from the same Wonderland pad using a tag die, similar HERE. The sentiment from Stamp Simply's "Merry Christmas" set was stamped with more of the Versafine Smokey Gray ink.

The star and tag layers were mounted on the background with Thermoweb 3D Foam pieces. A couple of pieces of May Art's Burlap String finalize the design.

All linked supplies are from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Be sure to check back next week for "something sweet!"
