Father's Day 2019

Happy Friday! I'm beginning to work up designs for the upcoming special dates...today, Father's Day. The "Godly Man" clear stamp and die set from Stamp Simply Ribbon Store is a perfect set to make a card for my father...along with Stamp Simply's "All Occasions Set Two."

Let's start from the base of the card and work our way up. The base of the card is layered with some fabulous new wood themed 12 x 12" decorator paper, "Craft Consortium Wood Textures." I layered one piece on the base, then added an additional strip in a darker color running down the center of the card. Adhesive used: Scor-It Tape.

The buck head was stamped next using Versafine Vintage Sepia ink, and then Versafine Onyx Black ink in a "Rock n' Roll" stamping technique (Splitcoaststampers tutorial HERE)...easy to do with a Tonic Stamp Platform. The pine branches were also stamped with a Rock n' Roll technique, with Tim Holtz Distress "Pine Needles" ink and the Versafine Onyx Black. I then die cut the buck head panel with a Spellbinder Deckled Edge Rectangle die from my stash; you can find other rectangle dies HERE

To add extra interest, I also die cut the buck head using Stamp Simply's steel "Godly Man Buck" die. I popped it up with Thermoweb 3D Foam pieces so that a bit of the wood texture behind would show at different angles. A May Art's 5/8" Twill ribbon tab at the top of the image panel also adds a bit of manly "bling."

You can also see where I stamped the Stamp Simply All Occasions Set Two sentiment with the top half of the letters in Versafine Vintage Sepia, and the lower half with the Onyx Black. The sentiment was then die cut with a Stamp Simply's Fishtail Sentiment Banner Die.

The inside was stamped with a Bible verse from "The Godly Man" stamp set.

All linked supplies are from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Also to note: Stamp Simply has a new die set out: Java die and clear stamp sets! Be sure to check them out!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Love this card - love the idea of the extra strip of darker paper.
