I designed this card for my father's upcoming birthday...it includes Stamp Simply Ribbon Store's "A Godly Man" stamp set, as well as "A Godly Man's Buck" steel die. But look closer--do any of you recognize the die cut shape behind the buck? Yes, it is a place SO close to my heart and many others...it is the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, my home state where I am so happy to have recently moved back to!
This special die and more will be coming available soon at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. Yoopers and Yoopers at heart will not want to miss the upcoming release.
I began the card by embossing the buck head from the "Godly Man" stamp set onto Ranger Watercolor paper using a Versamark Watermark pad and Ranger Ultra Fine Copper Embossing Powder. I die cut the buck head with the "Godly Man's Buck" die, then cut four additional watercolor paper buck head die cuts, layering all together with a Quickie Sakura Glue pen. This gives wonderful dimension to the buck head when mounted on the card.
The top layer of the base of the card is watercolor paper die cut the the Upper Peninsula die, then layered over a outdoorsy print from Echo Park's "Warm and Cozy" decorator paper pad. I embossed the final layer of the background layer with some of the Ranger Copper Embossing powder for a perfect match to the buck head. I like how the watercolor paper has a bit of texture that shows through the embossing for a rustic look. All card layers are taped together using Scor-Tape.
The outer and inside sentiments are from "A Godly Man" stamp set, embossed once again with Copper Ranger Ultra Fine Embossing Powder.
All supplies are from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.
Thanks for stopping by to take a look today, and be certain to keep watch for the upcoming release at Stamp Simply!
