Butterflies

Hello! I wanted to pop in and share a couple of butterfly designs that I created for this past weekend's Stamping in the U.P. Event. Great fun to get together with a group of fellow stampers and share ideas!

This first card was used as a swap with the other gals:

The base is created using watercolor paper embossed with Tim Holtz/Sizzix 3D Texture Fades Lumber Texture Embossing Folder, available at Stamp Simply.  The base for the butterfly is watercolor paper die cut with two Spellbinder Standard Square dies, also available at Stamp Simply.

The butterfly is created using watercolor paper and Tim Holtz Distress and Distress Oxide sprays. I used Distress sprays in: Speckled Egg, Bundled Sage, and Tea Dye. Distress Oxide spray in Speckled Egg was also used. After the distress sprays dried, I stamped over it with Tim Holtz/Stamper's Anonymous "Ledger" stamps using the Distress Tea Dye ink.

The butterfly was then die cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Tattered Butterfly Bigz Die.

The next card was created at the event using decorator paper (gold color: Graphic 45 Fairie Wings from Stamp Simply) from my stash and Tim Holtz/Sizzix's "Perspective Butterfly Thinlet die." The fun and sunny sentiment is Stamp Simply's "Typewritten Year Round Greetings," stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Thanks for taking a look. I hope that you've gained a bit of inspiration from this post.

See you on Friday!

Deb, I really love the butterflies in the first card! They look incredible! I really want the butterfly die on the bottom card! Dave and I raise Monarch butterflies! We've launched 101 so far this year! Beautiful cards all the way around!
