The die set used here is Tim Holtz/Sizzix Thinlet "Holiday Brushstrokes #2," available at Stamp Simply. I began by creating some background sheets of watercolor paper, spritzing with Tim Holtz/Ranger Spray Stains and Mica Stains.
After the stains dried, I die cut the pieces for the greenery and pine cones. The nice thing about making background sheets, is that I have additional colored paper left for future projects. You can also simply die cut the pieces from regular, uncolored watercolor paper, then color the individual pieces with the distress inks or watercolors.
The background of the card is pretty special--it is also watercolor paper. I stamped Stamp Simply's "Scripty Backgrounds Mini Set Two" joy to the world phrase with Tim Holtz Distress Antique Linen ink very lightly to the panel. I also lightly distressed the edges of the panel and card base.
The Stamp Simply "Merry Christmas" sentiment is from the clear stamp set by the same name, stamped with Versafine Claire Acorn ink and die cut with a Stamp Simply Fishtail Sentiment Banner die.
All linked supplies are from Stamp Simply.
