Jingle Shaker Card

Today's design features a couple of different fun elements...
sparkle from the shaker "gift" and jingle bell tinkle
from the bell and bow combo!

I was inspired by the "First Noel" designer paper from Kaisercraft. The gifts on the paper are printed with touches of gold foil, which are lovely but do not show up that well in my photos. I layered the printed paper over a top tent fold black cardstock base, then proceeded to make the shaker portion of the card.

The square "gift" shaped shaker was created with a JustRite "Four in a Square Dies" set. I diecut the first layer out of Gold Mirror cardstock (there are also a couple of gold foiled cardstock pages in the Kaisercraft First Noel pack), then cut a square piece of acetate from a Crystal Clear Box to fit the window of the shaker. I carefully glued the two together with Tombow Mono Multi Liquid glue. Just use a very small amount of glue, if you get some of the glue onto the mirror cardstock, it will smudge and be difficult to remove.

Cut the die cut window...this time from Foamiran foam or from a sheet of fun foam. This makes up the sides of the shaker, so there is room for the sequins to move within the shaker. If your foam is thin, you may need to add an additional layer. After the foam layer/layers are adhered, add some 5 mm Gold Sequins to each window pane, taking care not to over fill. Choose a base for the shaker-- I choose a black and gold foiled speckled paper from the Kaisercraft decorator paper pack. Glue the base onto the back of the sequin filled window carefully.

The shaker was then adhered to the base of the card with Scor-Tape, and embellished with a May Art's 1.5" Silk bow (tied with an Original Bow Easy) and 3/4" gold Jingle Bell.  A sentiment from Stamp Simply's "Farmhouse Christmas" stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and die cut with a Stamp Simply's steel Fishtail Sentiment Banner die adds the final touch.

Sparkle and sound! A fun design that will hopefully bring
smile to the recipient's face.
