Independence Day Banner

Another event coming up this summer: our nation's birthday! Planning ahead for Independence Day, or any other patriotic holiday using Stamp Simply Ribbon Store's "Patriotic Sentiments" and Fishtail Sentiment Banner dies.

This was a fun card to make. I love the fact that you can use the Fishtail Sentiment Banner dies to create banners such as this...so festive! You could even use an alphabet die to spell special occasions out on the banner pieces--fun for someone's birthday! I simply stamped a couple of stars on the banner pieces and the sentiment from the "Patriotic Sentiments" stamp set with Tim Holtz Distress ink in Chipped Sapphire.

The banner is "strung" on the card with May Art's Burlap String, although it is also taped down with Scor-Tape.

The sentiment was also cut with a Fishtail Banner die, and popped up with Thermoweb 3D Foam pieces. A Simple Stories "Claus and Company" enamel dot added a bit of bling.

The decorator paper used here is Authentique's "Frontier." Fabulous "country" prints that also have patriotic flair.
