Peace, Love, and Joy

Welcome! Here today with a card that would be suitable for so many special occasions in life includings baptism, confirmation, and so much more. Stamp Simply's new "Baptism--and More" clear stamp set has the perfect sentiments for these days!

I began making a base for the card using Tim Holtz' "Flowery" thinklet background die. Love this die as one cut through cardstock and you have the beginnings of an quick and easy background. Simply glue it to a base card and you're set! The die cut blooms add so much texture to a background, even while keeping with a monochromatic color scheme.

I stamped the sentiment from the "Baptism--and More" stamp set onto a Spellbinder Rectangle die cut using Versafine Onyx Black Ink. A die cut cross from Stamp Simply's steel "Crosses" die set is cut three times and glued together with Tombow Mono Multi Glue for dimension, then layered onto the rectangle panel. A simple Kaisercraft Pearl adds a bit of bling. EASY, yet classy. Scor-Tape was used to adhere layers.

Copper Masculine Birthday Card

Hello, and welcome! I've created a birthday card for my son featuring Stamp Simply's "Upper Peninsula of Michigan die" and "All Occasions 2" stamp set, plus a Tim Holtz Texture Fade embossing folder.

We live in an area in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan that is called "The Copper Country." There were numerous copper mines in our area in the past--all closed now--but a National Park was formed to celebrate the copper mining history. Keweenaw National Park information can be found HERE.

Our son lives far from home now, so a card that hearkens back to copper mining history will be appreciated and make him think of home.

I began the card by inking up Ranger Watercolor paper with layers of Tim Holtz Distress and Distress Oxide inks. Colors used: Tea Dye, Walnut Stain, Frayed Burlap, Rusty Hinge, and Hickory Smoke. While the paper was still damp, I ran it through my Spellbinders Platinum machine in Tim Holtz' "Mechanics" Texture Fade 3D embossing folder. Love the texture you can achieve using the Texture Fade folders! After the background dried, I rubbed a bit of Deco Art Metallic Lustre wax onto some of the gear edges. The panel is mounted on a base of Tim Holtz Color Coredinations cardstock.

The Upper Peninsula die was cut out of Copper Metallic cardstock once, and black cardstock three times. All layers were glued together with Tombow Mono Multi Liquid glue, and the copper layer was distressed with more of the Deco Art wax to tone down the shiny appearance of the cardstock.

The sentiment from Stamp Simply's "All Occasion Sentiments 2" stamp set was stamped onto more of the distress inked paper using Versafine Onyx Black ink. It was die cut with a Stamp Simply "Fishtail Banner Sentiment die." Scor-Tape was used throughout the design.

I really like how this turned out--especially that inky, grundgy backdrop. It's fairly flat for mailing.

Hello Sweet Friend Wreath

HI there! So glad that you have stopped by. I have a springtime card for you today featuring Stamp Simply Ribbon Store's "Seasonal Wreaths--Spring and Summer" clear stamp set, along with their new steel die set to matchI love the crisp clean die cuts giving me the ability to get some added dimension and *POP* in my design!

I began by die cutting the wreath portion first, leaving the die cut wreath in the panel it was cut from, then stamped the wreath with the stamp dipped in Versafine Claire Pinecone ink. You can also stamp first, then die cut.

I stamped the floral portion of the wreath with Memento Rich Cocoa ink since I wanted to add color with Copics; then die cut it with the Stamp Simply matching die.

The image was then mounted with with Thermoweb 3D Foam onto a Spellbinder Classic Square Nestabilities die cut panel, then layered over panels of Graphic 45 "Blossom" decorator paper and an additional cardstock layer.

Fairly flat, so easy to mail. Scor-Tape was used throughout.

Hope your Easter weekend if filled with blessings!
